It’s Bigger Than Us (IBTU) Fire Relief Efforts To Help Community

The recent Los Angeles fires brought immense loss and heartbreak to our community, but they also demonstrated the incredible resilience of Angelenos coming together. From neighbors to organizations, every act of support—big or small—created a powerful wave of assistance.

On the morning of January 8th, I raced to It’s Bigger Than Us (IBTU) @itsbiggerthanus_ headquarters, knowing this was where I needed to be. Having partnered with IBTU on meaningful community initiatives over the years, I’ve seen their unwavering dedication firsthand and am proud to call them friends. As one of the first volunteers to arrive, I immediately jumped in wherever help was needed—from unloading trucks to coordinating resources. For weeks, I’ve worked alongside their remarkable team—coordinating resource distribution, supporting grassroots partners, working on communications efforts, and connecting with elected offices to maximize IBTU’s impact. The dedication of IBTU’s leadership, volunteers, and partners has been truly inspiring, and their commitment to long-term recovery continues.

Grateful to the Jennifer Hudson Show and countless others for highlighting IBTU’s relief efforts. I am deeply thankful to my husband Chris, his company, and countless friends who contributed their time and resources to IBTU. I’m also thankful to AJ Feuerman for partnering with me to assist IBTU in meeting their needs and to fellow advocates and communications friends like Activist Monica Ramirez and Tara Coomans for spreading the word about IBTU. While there’s still much work ahead, our community’s response shows the incredible impact we can have when we unite. As Tyrone Nance reminds us, “It is not a moment; it is a movement.”

To join the IBTU ongoing efforts, donate or volunteer. Find more information at @itsbiggerthanus_ on Instagram or visit https://www.itsbiggerthanusla.org/relief.
